Yesterday , The Economist had initiated a twitter chat with #askeconomist . Such initiatives need to be considered as well.

Also, news situations e.g. the cabinet reshuffle, today the top trending topics are those of new cabinet ministers.

Re: My fun presentation at Pune

I agree with your opinion.

If you have more about on this
topic please add more, i have bookmarked your blog.
Re: My fun presentation at Pune

Its true and of course very interesting one.

Re: My fun presentation at Pune

Thanks Prasant. But there are some key differences, too: Facebook users tend to be younger, Twitter users are more educated, and Facebook users are more likely to login everyday even if they don't update their statuses with the same frequency.
.............
Allen young

Re: 5 predictions for Consumer web in 2011

the differences projected are very true
Re: Probiotics: Repositioning Bacteria

Is Nesvita Low Fat Probiotic Dahi is really great and having Probiotic foods is a good thing. Over and over again it
is mentioned about millions of people using it, the young profile of users,
companies using it to reach out to the target audience etc. I agree completely
with the facts.

However I am sceptical about the actual effectiveness of
social media viz-a-viz cost and conversion (gaining an actual consumer by sale,
registration etc and not just by impressions, taking part in contest)?

One similarity amongst all the examples and case studies on
the use of social media is that the companies using it are all big boys. Second
what no one mentions is the cost, the social media budget of companies using
the medium.

Another vital piece of information missing is how much the
companies are spending on other medium to promote the social campaign, and
ultimately how many of the target audience becomes consumers-conversion.

Another question this raises is what the worth of social
media on it own. Does it have to rely on the traditional medium to be of any relevance
to the marketer?

All that is mentioned in case studies is the no. of people
participated in the contest, impression generated videos views etc. How can one
make a objective decision about the effectiveness of social media.

And is the social media too hot to handle by small companies
with respect to cost? How much is a decent budget for a small company?

Re: What great speakers do differently; learnings from #adtechin and #nasscom_sms

ooh

Re: How user behaviour differs on Facebook vs Twitter?

Facebook is what you are. Twitter is what you would like to be.
You're not concerned with the no. of friends on FB. On twitter the only thing matters is the no. of followers

Re: How user behaviour differs on Facebook vs Twitter?

Interesting observation. I think Twitter is more appealing to some people for its ease of use and the fact that you can share any idea/thought you may have in 140 characters. So perhaps we can say a typical Twitter user is accustomed to lot of information in short spans (and (s)he like it that way!). What say?

Here is an interesting study on Twitter usage in America! - http://bit.ly/hBeWLs
Re: What great speakers do differently; learnings from #adtechin and #nasscom_sms

Not sure if I thought it was a great film - but certainly thought provoking. The ‘reach’ through Facebook is limited as you operate within a known set of people. Through Twitter you can access more people, have a bigger network.
